While songs about love and loss, regret and renewal are not new, Raélle's smokey voice and dusting of South Africa, imbue her songs with a lingering spice. Soulful and romantic, infectious and joyful, she moves between emotions with the grace of the classically trained dancer that she is. It is the dovetailing of all these elements that give her a resonant individuality - a crisp, clear and creative voice.
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, Raélle immigrated to California, where she went on to graduate from UCLA World Arts and Culture's Dance Department, Summa Cum Laude. Beginning her training under the Royal Academy of Dance ballet program, Raélle furthered her studies in various forms of dance, pilates and musical theater. She continued to pursue her passion for the arts - performing, choreographing, directing, producing and as an educator.
Raélle has performed at some of California's most prestigious venues including McCallum Performing Arts Center, Cerritos PAC, Redlands Bowl, James Armstrong Theater, Levitt Pavillion Pasadena, LA Convention Center, Art Share LA, Barrio Action Center, UCLA’s Freud Playhouse, Fowler Museum as well as Japan American Theatre, Los Angeles Nisei Festival, Eagle Rock Festival, Pasadena CC, and UCLA’s Fowler Museum with Pacifico Dance Company and Fusion Dance Theater. She has judged various performing arts competitions such as Dancing with the South Bay Stars and Open Call at McCallum Theater and serves on the board of Fusion Performing Dance Academy located in East LA and Simama Project located in Kenya.
Prior to her role as Executive Director of the Dance Resource Center of Greater Los Angeles and as Dance Teacher/Choreographer at Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, Raélle was Associate to the Director at Cadence Arts Network, a boutique booking and consulting agency, Manager for Pentacle programming in LA and was Education Director at the Torrance Cultural Arts Center.
